No triggers.
A woman drowning in sorrow. Invisible.
The man that sees it all. Sees her.
The only thing that gets Charlotte Prescott through the day is the haunting eyes and magnetic voice that uplifts her in the subway station every evening.
All Montgomery Logan wants to do is ease the pain of the woman he feels a strange, protective draw to. He serenades her from afar, knowing their worlds will never intersect.
Until the day they do.
And everything changes.
Will their differences make them stronger or tear them apart?
LORD. THAT COVER THO. I admit that was basically my only reason for picking up this book. Don't judge.
Heart Strings has been such a delightful surprise. I’ve always heard amazing things about Melanie Moreland but never had the chance to read any of her books. So yes, this was my first book from hers and now I can assure you this will not be my last. Melanie Moreland knows how to pack a punch; she brings the heat and emotions like no one else. She is a soul whisperer, she directly talks to your heart, pushing out your mixed emotions, healing your wounded feelings gently, making you whole again. Melanie’s writing is outstanding and it kept me completely gripped to the story from start to finish. She created this wonderful and loving relationship between Logan and Lottie that painfully reminded me of my single status.
I felt safe in his embrace. As if I had found my home. I knew that was ridiculous. I barely knew him. And yet—it was true.
This was way cuter and sweeter than I thought it would be with that cover. There was something so pure about this romance – in the way both Logan and Lottie were so steadfast in their feelings. The chemistry between them was scorching. But even with Lottie's parents being against their relationship & wanting them to fail; they make sense, they’re meant to be together. Logan was the highlight of this book for me, he is definitely not your typical sexy rockstar, although he does have long dark hair, abs and a body to die for. Underneath all of that though, is a sensitive, caring man who simply wanted the best for his Snow Queen. It was so refreshing. There is no push or pull, no unnecessary OM or OW drama - just passion and heartbreak and love.
He was the only thing I lived for these days. Even if he didn’t know.
This is not a book that has changed my life in any way or that I will remember it as time goes by. Seriously, I can't even say that it will be one of my favourite books because it will probably be not. But it was highly entertaining, Heart Strings grabs you from the beginning and doesn't let go till the end. The characters are amazing and the story flows so smoothly that you just have to finish it in one sitting. The writing was so real. This author had a way of describing things that put you 'right there' in the moment seeing everything play out in front of your eyes.
He lowered his head and kissed me. It was long, deep, and soul-shattering. It set my heart soaring, elated and calmed me, all at once.
Here's what really and truly made this book GOLD to me. The characters were just so functional! Never once did I want to throttle anyone or throw my kindle at the wall. Because trust me, when I say I've committed a lot of *murders* in my head, I'm not lying. There's nothing worse than wanting to kill the person who was supposed to be your new book boyfriend.
She leaned forward, and our lips met over the guitar that brought her to me. The one I played for her that helped heal her soul. So she, in turn, could heal mine. I sat back and gazed at the center of my world. My wife, my son, my music. My heart strings.
“Stop.”
“What?”
“Looking at me like that.”
“How am I looking at you?” he asked, a smile curling his lips, a repeat of the last time he’d asked me that question.
“As if you don’t know.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about, Lottie. I’m simply looking at you. I like looking at you.”
“You’re all smoldery.”
“Smoldery? As a teacher, I gotta tell you—there isn’t such a word.”
“There is. It’s my word. And you are. All smoldery and sexy, with that wicked look on your face.”
His smile became a smirk, and he bent lower, his breath washing over my face. “Wicked look?”
I decided to shock him. “The one that says ‘You’re gonna let me fuck your ass one day, baby.’”
His eyebrows shot up. “My face says that!?”
I smacked his chest. “Sometimes it does.”
He placed his lips against my ear. “And will you let me, Lottie?”
“Maybe,” I breathed out.
“I’ll take that as another rain check.”
“Whatever.”
He kissed my neck, nibbling on the skin. “Trust me, Lottie. When I claim your ass, whatever isn’t the word you’re going to be screaming out.”
- ❝I knew right then, I was in love with Montgomery Logan. Every single side of him, I adored. And I wanted to keep him.❞

- ❝I loved winter. I loved the cold, the snow, and everything it brought with it. The sounds and sights of the upcoming holidays. Sledding, skiing, even walking in the newly fallen snow—especially at night when the flakes drifted down and the streets were empty. I would walk for hours, bundled up and protected against the frigid cold. I walked until my nose tingled and my fingers curled inside my mittens. I loved mittens.❞
- ❝I tried not to giggle, but he was irresistible. His unique eyes sparkled under the lights, his smile was wide and bright, and he was sexy as hell with his taut frame and teasing.❞
- ❝“Jesus, you’re addictive.” My heart was pounding, my head swimming from his mouth. The barely controlled passion. The desire I felt. “Ditto,” I whispered.❞
- ❝“Logan,” I breathed. “I am not your responsibility. It’s not your job to make sure my day is okay.” He held my hand against his skin, the heat burning into my palm. “Yes, it is,” he insisted. “Everything about you is my business now, Lottie.” He paused, searching my eyes. “I love you.”❞
